The idea of this video is to showcase the sound of some of the world’s greatest performance car engines either roaring or stirring into life. Most of the time we are treated to the sound of these engines hard at work but here it’s all about the moment the engine fires up and the smooth or lumpy idle that follows. It’s quite a soothing experience.

Predictably, the video starts with the cliché long legs, stilettos and mini skirt, the standard ingredients for a supercar video. But it soon gets to the point and we are treated to the sound of 34 great cars awakening from their sleep. There’s everything from Steve McQueen’s 1957 Jaguar XKSS and Elvis Presley’s 1971 DeTomaso Pantera to modern supercars like the howling 2014 Lamborghini Aventador and the snarling 2006 Saleen S7. In between there’s the straight six purr of a 1969 E-Type and the menacing low V8 rumble of a  1965 Mustang. It ends with a crescendo of them all starting together – a beautiful noise indeed.
